  • Heathen Community Invasion: Urban Walk in Historic Glendale

When a group of Cincinnati's elite got together in 1851 to discuss creating a summer home community somewhere between Cincinnati and Hamilton, they had no idea their summer escape would end of being one of Cincinnati's most prestigious and historically significant neighborhoods.

Known for it's contribution to the Underground Railroad, early integration of African-Americans, architecture, government leaders, and of course, it's squirrels, Glendale, Ohio is one of the city's loveliest communities, Join me as we explore stops on the Underground Railroad, beautiful historic homes and buildings, thriving local businesses, and other fun places of interest.

The walk is mostly flat and paved. We will begin with a brief tour of the Glendale Depot Historic Museum. We will be taking a leisurely pace with stops to discuss places of significance. Bring your cameras. Dogs and kids welcome.

Parking is available in the village square as well as across the street in thr public lot. After, we will do lunch at a local hot spot called the Friendly Stop Cafe.
