  • Science Based Yoga For Relaxation and Fun-Virtual

    Newcomers Welcome! Join KC Lauer for an enjoyable hour of easy science based yoga designed for all levels of ability and experience. There will be a short presentation and discussion at the beginning of class regarding some of the science behind yoga, including some of the evidence of what does work and also some of the science that debunks some of the myths regarding the practice. We will then move on to some breath work and meditation, some easy floor poses and some standing poses, possible throw in a little music, poetry and even dance! Sundays 6PM - 7 PM through March. Currently, we are planning 4 weeks of yoga and will discuss extending classes if interest is there. About the instructor: KC Lauer is an RN who has been practicing yoga for several decades. She is currently almost finished with 200 hr Yoga Certification through Vitality Cincinnati and is starting training for 300 hr certification also through Vitality. She has found yoga to have profound benefits in her life and believes it should be accessible to all. She is very excited to be able to share this practice with the Community of Reason. Many of KC's discussion will come from the book The Science of Yoga by William J. Broad a science journalist and senior writer for the New York Times. You can find the book at the library or your favorite online bookstore. Used copies available on several online sites. The book is not required or necessary to attend the class. Sharing in case you would like to get a copy for yourself only.
